We can't believe its been 20 years already...actually we can!
In May of 2005 the building housing our proshop operations and restaurant operations opened. Its been a wild ride since then! The restaurant has always struggled with an identity of what do we serve the community for food... well, its been difficult to read.. our community is ever changing. We have developed relationships with many of our customers -- watching their families grow...move away..etc. Some we have been a part of special celebrations. Our location is perfect for the nestled golf course...however for a restaurant, not so much. We are open steadily with hours that work for the family March through October.. then we get into the holidays and stress our event business. But even that landscape has changed going back to the start of Covid. This year - 2025 - our 20th year -- we have decided to embrace who we are with our menu. We are the place you want to go to escape the craziness of the Carlisle Pike. We want you to stop in for dinner...maybe lunch on Sat and Sun - to enjoy the landscape, nature, our woodcarvings, and the really pure air and calmness of the RVG property. Maybe you want to hang out on the covered deck or in one of our 12 bar seats...or maybe hide in the quiet front room. You will find very little over the price of 15.00 on our menu this year. The burgers are 8-ozers - The wings not breaded - The wraps and salads fresh - The quesadillas enough for a meal. We recognize our golf operations bring most to RVG: the mini golf, range, 3 hole beginners course and 18 hole championship course. Few come just for the restaurant. If you find yourself in this category we challenge you to give us a chance- 1 to 2 times this summer.. The cool thing is that we do not stress turning over tables to make that extra dollar. We want you to stay a while. We want your kids to be entertained --- bring the ipads...borrow a deck of cards for a game of War - or send them to play mini golf while you enjoy a peaceful moment catching up on emails. Those who are skeptical will ask...why should my dollar come to support you - Nolo's and RVG? Good question. Here is my answer: RVG is a family business - in DNA and our employees. RVG supports over 30 employees and their families. RVG pays school taxes to Cumberland Valley School District. RVG supports a binder full of fundraisers locally. If that is not worth a try then I don't know what is. We are hoping to meet you soon!
